NextRound (nextround.work) is a job-application tracker. You sign in with Google or an emailed sign-in link, keep a board of the jobs you're applying to, and can optionally let job-related emails update your board automatically, either by connecting Gmail or by forwarding emails to your personal NextRound address. This policy explains what data NextRound collects, how it's used, who else handles it, and the choices you have.
openid, email and profile scopes), used only to identify your account. We also store your time zone so reminder emails arrive in your morning.gmail.metadata scope, NextRound reads the sender, subject, date and Google's short preview snippet of messages in your inbox. This scope does not allow reading the full body or attachments of any email, and NextRound never sends, deletes or changes anything in your mailbox. We store the access token Google issues so NextRound can check for new mail; it's kept on our server and never shown to anyone.Email data, whether from Gmail or forwarded to you, is used for one purpose: to detect emails about your job applications (such as application confirmations, interview invitations, offers and rejections) and update the matching card on your board, or add a new one. This happens automatically. Emails that don't look job-related are ignored and not stored. For each email applied to your board we keep a log entry with its sender, subject, snippet and date, so you can see what changed and so the same email is never applied twice. Removing an entry in the app hides it from your log; the record itself is kept (so that email isn't applied again) until your account is deleted.
When you import a job link, NextRound fetches that public page. If the page doesn't publish its job details in a standard format, the page's text may be sent to an AI model to extract the company, role, location and similar details. Only the public job page is ever sent this way; Gmail data and forwarded emails are never sent to an AI model.
If reminder emails are on, we use your board to send a short daily and/or weekly email about follow-ups, interviews, deadlines and applications that have gone quiet.
Your data is visible only to you. Other NextRound users can't see your board or your emails.
NextRound's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, Gmail data is used only to provide the job-tracking features described above; it is not used for advertising, not sold, not used to train AI or machine-learning models, not sent to any AI model, and not transferred to anyone else except as necessary to provide the service, to comply with law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with notice to you. No person reads your Gmail data unless you ask us to (for example, for support), it is needed for security or to comply with law, or it has been aggregated and anonymized.
We don't sell or rent your data, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers. NextRound runs on a server operated by its developer and uses no analytics, tracking pixels or advertising services. These providers handle data only to run the service:
NextRound uses a sign-in session cookie to keep you logged in, short-lived cookies that protect the Google sign-in and Gmail connection steps from forgery, and on phones an optional cookie that remembers whether you prefer the desktop site. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
Data is stored in a database on our server and sent only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Database backups are made nightly and kept for 14 days. We keep your data for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your data is removed from the live database right away and disappears from backups within 14 days.
NextRound is not intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
